Writing My Book
Writing My Book

I don’t know if many people know this about me, I’ve always dreamed of being a writer. Back in my college days, I was an English major with a Creative Writing minor. I dreamed of working as an editor by day as I wrote my novel by night. Twenty-five years ago, was a much different time. Back then it was hard to break into the writing scene. Self publishing was never a thing I would have even dreamed of. But it’s here now and it’s literally just a few clicks to self publish. What’s not very easy is actually sitting down and writing.

Of course, I have this blog and I find the time to sit down and write every week. I really do love blogging! But there’s still this little idea in the back of my mind. Yes, in the back, kicked way in the back by kids, work, housework, what could pass as a social life, and my desire to sleep! This little idea is to actually get serious about writing a book. Lately I have been sneaking around writing down outlines and plot ideas like when I hide out to eat my chocolate. Seriously, if I don’t hide and eat it, my kids will devour my stash like it was Shark Week!

Anyway, I have a book idea, an outline, AND a first chapter written. Yay! I know it’s not a whole book but it’s a start and that’s more than I’ve ever done before. I have also taken some steps toward becoming a freelance writer. I really feel like my life-long dream of being a writer is finally here. If I can keep the momentum up! Thank you for visiting with me today. =)
